There are times in life when the ego professes, “I am sick and tired of ______ (fill in the blank).” So, if this statement is really true, why do we keep experiencing the thing we filled in the blank? Is it possible that on one level the ego enjoys being sick and tired?
Anytime you revisit the same problem more than once, there is some aspect of the experience the ego finds attractive. If another part of you really would rather not experience it, then it’s time to realign your thinking on the matter.
Some believe that you have to become sick and tired of being sick and tired before anything can change. This may sound logical to the ego. However, it actually perpetuates the problem. In other words, how can layering more sick and tired on top of already sick and tired possibly help?
Instead, try healthy and rested
As part of the realignment process, stop affirming sick, and stop affirming tired. Instead, affirm healthy in the place of sick. And, affirm rested in the place of tired. It is not possible to experience sickness and health simultaneously. Nor is it possible to feel tired and rested at the same time.
The next time your ego talks you into feeling sick and tired of something, affirm that you are actually healthy and rested. Repeat after me, “I am healthy and rested. I am as God created me to be. God and I are One.™” Healthy and rested is the natural state of a body when the mind is aligned with God.
Cars need periodic realignment. So, too, does the mind. Anytime you think sick and tired, re-think healthy and rested. Once you realign your mind, your body naturally moves into peace.
