Time is a construct, meaning concept, created by the human ego to explain its experience of change. The mistaken belief in separation from God causes us to create and then project a fear-based world of ever-changing illusions. The concept of time allows the ego to freeze each change as a separate snap-shot to more easily process what it means. Not having time is like watching and processing 1,000 different cable TV channels simultaneously.
Time only exists in the ego’s world of separation. Each moment appears to magically arise on its own as either a twist of fate or fortune. As the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End, God has no need for time. In God’s world, only eternity exists. This is thought of in human terms as a single, sustained moment, or the holy moment.
In the holy moment, we get a quick, but profound glimpse of God’s eternity. Therein, God’s will for us of unbounded love, peace, and joy comes into focus. It takes discipline to break the ego’s well-honed habit of ignoring these holy moments and reacting to change with trepidation. When you catch yourself reacting with fear to an ever-changing world, turn your attention to the ever-present holy moment. Doing so reminds you that you are truly a Child of God and all is well.
Fear not change and live every moment as a holy moment in time.
